One of the common things we get asked about in regards to our workshops is safety! Of course this is an understandable concern, but we’re here to put your mind at ease. To begin with, all of our staff are fully trained and have been through Working With Children checks. We are fully insured and after working with over 10,000 kids have not had a single incident. Our facilitator has a building license and over 25 years of experience in the industry. And has the aim of imparting his knowledge on children in a fun and hands on way.
A Safe Setup
An instructional talk is given before starting so that everyone is prepared for work. Each group is limited to 15 children so that everyone gets a fair amount of attention from our facilitator. At every woodwork workshop a safety zone is set up around the work area. As well as creating a safer working environment this also helps to make the party feel more professional for the kids. It’s as if they’re working on a real building site! This is furthered by the safety equipment that must be worn by each child, made up of a high vis orange vest and safety glasses.
One on One Experience
Built By Kidz Parties workshops provide a one on one experience! This means when it comes time for tools to be used, our facilitator will stand with one child at a time and guide them through the process. This ensures upmost safety. While this child is being strictly supervised, the other children waiting their turn are given the job of decorating their project.
Our facilitator is patient and encouraging so that each child has a chance to learn at their own pace. No one feels rushed in creating their project. The kids in our workshops become confident enough to get involved and try new things in a safe and fun environment. While also learning skills that are rarely taught in schools. We want the kids to not only take away their project, but their memories of the day and life skills that they will carry on into adulthood.
